Curves

Seamless Curves, Effortless Design

EGR Decor’s StyleLite Acrylic Sheet and TruNatur Laminate HPL Sheet offer exceptional flexibility and visual continuity for curved and contoured cabinetry. Designed for modern interiors, both materials combine aesthetic excellence with advanced performance, delivering smooth and seamless surfaces across reception counters, island fronts, vanities, and feature walls.

Both sheets are designed for cold forming, making them ideal for curved cabinetry when laminated onto flexible substrates.

Recommended Substrates

For curved applications, use flexible or slotted substrates that allow smooth bending without stressing the laminate:

Bendable Plywood – strong, dimensionally stable, excellent for tight curves and clean edges.
Slotted MDF – suitable for consistent radii when supported by accurate jigs or vacuum presses.
Standard MDF and particleboard are not recommended for tight curves.

Adhesive Guidance

A high-quality bond is critical to maintaining curve shape and surface integrity.

EGR Décor recommends:

Contact Adhesive – TensorGrip® L32, a high-strength contact adhesive formulated for decorative laminates. Provides excellent initial grab and fast curing.
PUR or PVA Cold Press Adhesives – suitable for larger curved panels; apply evenly and press using templates or vacuum systems.
Ensure uniform adhesive coverage and allow full curing before trimming or further processing.

Unsuitable Application

The following should be avoided when working with StyleLite® or TruNatur™ in curved applications:

Postforming with heat, rollers, or heavy mechanical handling – not suitable and may cause cracking or delamination.
Tight radii on rigid, non-bendable substrates.
Use of incompatible or low-strength adhesives.
Rapid forming without acclimatisation or proper support.
General Recommendation

Acclimatise materials before fabrication.
Use accurate templates, jigs, or vacuum presses to ensure controlled forming and prevent spring-back.
Allow full adhesive cure before trimming or edge finishing.
