The Highgate Hill Project
TruNatur Spotted Gum & StyleLite Carbon TruMatte
The Highgate Hill kitchen blends natural woodgrain with modern contrast. TruNatur Spotted Gum adds warmth and texture, while StyleLite Carbon TruMatte around the island provides a bold visual break. Sleek lines and earthy tones reflect the home's dark sophistication, creating a masculine yet inviting space.
The client's brief emphasised a desire to feature Australian native Spotted Gum throughout the kitchen. When comparing timber cabinetry finishes available across the Australian market, TruNatur Spotted Gum stood out for its realistic colours and lack of grain repetition, creating an authentic and natural timber look.
The Cosmic Black granite from Finestone Granite & Marble beautifully complemented the TruNatur Spotted Gum backdrop, with its copper-toned veining accentuating the timber grain throughout the natural stone. The matte finish of the benchtops established a cohesive theme throughout the kitchen, supported by EGR Decor's darkest solid colour, StyleLite Carbon TruMatte.
StyleLite TruMatte in Carbon was the perfect complement to the Leather finish black granite benchtops — its low sheen rejects fingerprints and maintains a refined appearance throughout the space. Hardware was kept to a minimum to maintain the streamlined design and keep the focus on the hero materials.
